The Center for Christian Leadership (CCL) was conceived out of a vision to see a growing number of Christian leaders who are adequately equipped, and local churches which are increasingly empowered to effectively carry out the fulfillment of the Great Commission in our generation.

  THE VISION

Through the Center for Christian Leadership, We want to see a growing number of Christian leaders who are adequately equipped, spiritually mature, and socially relevant by seeking to provide them an ongoing, non-formal education in an atmosphere of mentoring relationship that promotes personal growth.

THE STRATEGY

The non- formal set-up of CCL is intended to supplement rather than compete with existing formal training institutions in the area. Its flexible programs and schedules are designed to accommodate those who have difficulty fulfilling the requirements of a formal school.

CCL is also maintaining a study center and library for pastors and Christian workers in Cebu City, and a retreat/training center in a farm in Ubay, Bohol. We also offer counseling services for individuals and married couples as part of our ministry.

THE TARGET

1. Lay people who are holding positions of leadership in the church, and who want to be equipped in doing the ministry.
2. Existing pastors who have had formal biblical training but fell the need for continuing training.
3. Churches wanting to avail of special seminars/training packages for their members.
4. Existing pastors who may not have undergone formal biblical training and would like to earn a certification in any of the programs offered by CCL.

TESTIMONIES

* The lessons, group sessions, and the book readings were confronting, challenging, and compelling. To sum it up--- simply life-changing! (Ariel Sagaoinit, PSALM/OM Volunteer)

* A friend of mine upon knowing that I am taking biblical counseling classes quips to me, “You have been pastoring and counseling for many years, was it not biblical at all?” It was just a joke but it made me ponder how I dealt with people who came to me for counseling. In these sessions I learned the true essence of counseling based on the Word of God . . . contributed by people who have a real experience in life as counselees and counselors. (Ptr. Romeo Vilarta, Shalom Christian Center Senior Pastor)

* This program is a bittersweet journey for me. God used this course to expose my depravity – the ways I manifest it in relationships, and to awaken my dignity – like becoming aware when it is being violated. As a result, I have become more sensitive to the ways I violate other people’s dignity as well. (Elvi Pajaro, Navigators Staff)

* God used the classes to force me to deal with issues in my life that I have managed to ignore in the past. He allowed me to discover that there were many things I didn’t know and understand. I feel like a child again who is less sure of herself and seeking to be guided by the Father. I learned to listen more than talk. I learned that my worth as a person does not rest in my academic achievements, because God loves me no matter what. (Laura Pla, IVCF Staff)
